I'm Back

I was home for Thanksgiving break this past weekend and Buster yelled at me for not posting more often. He seems to forget the fact that I have classes during the day and don't just lay around sleeping and singing to myself.
The break was extreamly stressful with granparents in and out of the emergancy room. Plus long car rides are not fun with a bar in your chest. But I did have some fun shopping at some local stores and shopping for a 3 year old kid we picked off the angel tree at church. My mom and I also had a bead night I finished a necklace and she made a bracelet.
I was definitly ready to come back yesterday. I'll be home again in a few weeks after finals befor Christmas. Hopefull that break will go better. Back to studying hard for a few weeks then about a month off. YAY!!!

First Week of Class

So I don't have quite that many books but they are pretty big. This semester I am in Chemistry, Biology, English Writing, and Theater Appreciation. I didn't want to take theater, and was worried after I found out it was the biggest book I have, but the professor is pretty cool and we won't use the book that often. Its only the first week of class and for some reason I already feel behind on my work, which I'm not. So far its all going pretty well, most of my classes are in the morning so I have most afternoons off, except Monday and Wednesday when I have theater. Labs start this week so I am super excited about that. (yes I'm a nerd.) Hopefully I will have some time this week to post a few times. Hope everyone has a great week. I miss you Buster.

Finally Moved In

Yesterday was move in day. It went pretty smoothly. I moved into my room and while waiting for my roommate when and got my books at the book store. She got there about half an hour after I did then we started unpacking. I have four classes: biology, chemistry, English writing, and theater appreciation (not an ideal class but oh well). My thickest book is (you guessed it) theater appreciation. I'm excited to start classes on Tuesday till then we have a lot of possible activities all weekend.

Chocolate Sable Cookies

I made cookies today. I was only going to make the chocolate Sable Cookies but the recipe din't make as many as I had hoped, so I made some chocolate chip too. I followed the Chocolate Sable Cookie Recipe I found here. They turned out really good and I plan on making them again. They are almost gone and the chocolat chip are about half gone. Between my family, giving some to my grandparents, and my boyfriend eating some and taking some home, cookies don't last long around here. I plan on experimenting with more cookie recipies soon so I will hopefully have more cookie posts.

My Favorite Perfume

I have a few favorite perfumes, but my all time favorite is Versace Bright Crystal. I wear it almost every day. I bought it for myself two years ago for my birthday. After spending about an hour in the fragrance department at Macy's I decided on the Versace Bright Crystal. I wear it most days and an getting close to the end of the bottle. (Good idea for Christmas mom.) This perfume lasts all day on me. It's a floraly scent that's not to in your face. It is so cute it is light pink in color and has a gem like bottle. This is definitely my favorite scent to wear.

Book Review

Title: Wither
Author: Lauren Destefano

This is an odd book. Again I picked it up because of the cover. It is about three young girls that are brought to a mansion to become brides of a wealthy man who is losing his wife. Due to a virus females only live to age twenty and males twenty-five. In the massive mansion with many gardens strange things occur. Their new life is filled with holograms and it is questionable on what is reality. With forbidden love added in and a creepy Housemaster, I didn't want to put this book down.  There are a few twists and turns and many odd things happening which are left open ended. I really want the next book in this trilogy and want to see what happens to the characters.

Busy Busy

I have been totally absent from posting for over a week now. There are just so many things going on. Work, Physical Therapy, Sleeping, Boyfriend, Family, Jewelry, and of course getting ready to move across a state at the end of the month. I'm leaving for college labor day weekend. So on top of my normal weekly activities I have to make sure things are set up for when I leave, many here and many there. Not an easy task from 5 and a half hours away. My room is currently littered with school supplies and dorm decor. It is crazy busy around here with my brother leaving in two weeks. We're twins and the only children in the house, unless you include the dog. So since I hurt myself today at aquatic therapy (leave it to one of the younger ones to injure themselves) I will hopefully be able to get some posts ready for the rest of the week and some of next week. Plus make a ton of jewelry tomorrow. It's very odd not having my big dog around to help me with random tasks when I'm injured.

Small Shih tzu, Big Adventure

Today I got to go on an adventure. Thankfully it wasn't to the vet or the groomers. We went to get a cake for mom. It is her birthday today and some people forgot to get the cake. (You know who you are...) So we went to get her one. I sat in the car and kept mom company while Katy ran into the store. She got a chocolate cake though which means I can't eat it. :( But it's pretty anyway!
Since I can't eat cake, I'm going to play with my pig. But Katy's home tonight so I get to sleep in her room again. She even gives me a pillow at the end of her bed. Well that's all for now, I'm going to be Shih tzu-tastic somewhere.                     ~ Buster   (With help typing from Katy)

Back to School Shopping

Shopping is one of my favorite things to do. Combine this with an addiction to office supplies and I love this time of year. This year there is so much more to think about with moving into the dorm so I started early. I have been slowly getting cute pencils, pens, and erasers. I need more note books, folders, binders, and dorm stuff. This year I needed to get a backpack because it is less strenuous on my joints than a messenger bag (this is a little sad because mine is really cute.). The one I got is from High Sierra.
I have quite a bit more shopping to do. Mainly on dorm decorations and necessities (like bedding). I also still have to learn how to do laundry (I'm a little behind on learning to do this, especially because I'm leaving in a month.). I have so much to do in what seems like a long time. But this summer is flying by before I realize.

Black and White Multi-strand Bracelet

One of my regular farmers market visitors ask if I could make her a bracelet in black and white. She really liked the multi-strand bracelets but didn't wear an of the colors that they were in. Since she is a good and repeat customer I told her I could make her one. I got the beads for the bracelet and made it during the week. I had it ready and waiting for her this morning. She loved it! I really like how this bracelet turned out especially because I don't often work in black and white. I have a few more orders to fill this week and other pieces to replace stock for next week.

Book Review

Title: Airhead
Author: Meg Cabot

I have been wanting to read this book for a long time. I have picked it up off the library shelf many times but always put it back realizing I wouldn't have the time to read it. So when I saw it was on the shelf this summer when I was getting some books I was excited to finally get to read it. At first it confused me. I knew the title of the second and was confused by the character having a different name. Then was confused by so of the early events. After this was all explain I totally understood what was taking place. I really enjoyed this book and Meg Cabot has been one of my favorite authors for quite some time. I really want to read the second to find out about the cliff hanger at the end. It was an interesting read and kept me turning pages and not wanting to put it down. I'm a little disappointed that I won't be able to read the next one for awhile because there are a lot of books on my current reading list.

Cleaning my Grandparents House

My grandparents house my have finally sold!!! Today my mom, brother, boy friend, and I had a moving sale. Everything was for sale except a few items. They had the most random crap scattered throughout their house. Things were jammed in every corner imaginable and they moved out in NOVEMBER!! Also by the time this started we were on the eighth contractor garbage bag taken out for the house. There is still a TON of crap left in there. This weekend my uncle and cousin are up and whoever we know that wants to help is allowed to come and help us empty the place. They can take what they want. Hopefully it gets done soon. Amidst the crap were some very good finds including an original tonka truck still in the box and a few willow plates. I am partial to the metal zippers and antique buttons I took home... jewelry here I come. It is ridiculous some of the things my grandparents kept. If you have a person like this good luck cleaning when they move.

I Can't Sleep

It is almost 1 in the morning and I can't sleep. There is a snoring shih tzu at the foot of my bed and I am the only one awake in the house. I've had milk and cookies, read in my book, late night texted my boyfriend (who's asleep), and have watched several episodes of The Addams Family on hulu. All of these things normally work and none have seemed to tonight. I think I had to much caffeine today. Hopefully I'll fall asleep soon. I hate not being able to sleep.

Beads Beads Beads

I have an obsession with bead. Last summer I started making jewelry after I had surgery. (I couldn't concentrate on anything else.) I made so many pieces I stated to try selling them at a local farmers market. I am also doing farmers markets this summer. Recently people have started asking for custom orders which I am definitely willing to do. This is a list of some of my favorite places to buy beads.

The Mother Bead
Twisted Sister Boutique
The Bead Shoppe
Nordic Gypsy
Michael's
Joann Fabrics
Hobby Lobby

Book Review

Title: Prisoners in the Palace : How Princess Victoria became Queen with the Help of her Maid, a Reporter, and a Scoundrel
Author: Michaela MacColl

I'll be honest at first I chose this book because of the cover. It's shiny and pretty. I ended up really enjoying this book. There was mystery and intrigue, sneaking around, spying and adventure. It was very entertaining and there are many twists and turns. There is romance throughout the book. It is set in nineteenth century England. There are evil plots and deaths laced through the book as well. As the cover of the book states it is very intriguing. I enjoyed it immensely.

Painting My Nails

I decided to paint my nails tonight. I have a bit of an addiction to nail polish, and with many new colors recently purchased it was difficult to choose. I decided I wanted a subtle color so I went with essie mademoiselle.
